PURPOSE: Toludesvenlafaxine is a recently developed antidepressant that belongs to the triple reuptake inhibitor class. Despite the in vitro evidence that toludesvenlafaxine inhibits the reuptake of serotonin (5-HT), norepinephrine (NE) and dopamine (DA), there is no in vivo evidence that toludesvenlafaxine binds to DAT and increases DA level, a mechanism thought to contribute to its favorable clinical performance. METHODS: Positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) was used to examine the DAT binding capacity in healthy rats and human subjects and microdialysis was used to examine the striatal DA level in rats. [18F]FECNT and [11C]CFT were used as PET/CT radioactive tracer for rat and human studies, respectively. RESULTS: In rats, 9 mg/kg of toludesvenlafaxine hydrochloride (i.v.) followed by an infusion of 3 mg/kg via minipump led to the binding rate to striatum DAT at 3.7 - 32.41% and to hypothalamus DAT at 5.91 - 17.52% during the 45 min scanning period. 32 mg/kg oral administration with toludesvenlafaxine hydrochloride significantly increased the striatal DA level with the AUC0 - 180 min increased by 63.9%. In healthy volunteers, 160 mg daily toludesvenlafaxine hydrochloride sustained-release tablets for 4 days led to an average occupancy rates of DAT at 8.04% ± 7.75% and 8.09% ± 7.00%, respectively, in basal ganglion 6 h and 10 h postdose. CONCLUSION: These results represent the first to confirm the binding of toludesvenlafaxine to DAT in both rats and humans using PET/CT, and its elevation of brain DA level, which may help understand the unique pharmacological and functional effects of triple reuptake inhibitors such as toludesvenlafaxine. SCOPE: l-Theanine (l-Thea) is an amino acid which is naturally present in tea leaves. It has been associated with possible health advantages, including obesity prevention, but the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been elucidated. METHODS AND RESULTS: A multiomics approach is utilized to examine the mechanism by which l-Thea exerts its antiobesity effects. This study reveals that l-Thea administration significantly ameliorates high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity in rats by improving body weight and hyperlipidemia. l-Thea mitigates HFD-induced inflammation and reverses hepatic and colonic damage, and intestinal barrier. This research verifies that the preventive effect of l-Thea on obesity in rats induced by an HFD with colitis is accomplished by suppressing the phosphorylation of important proteins in the NF-κB/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathways. Metabolome analysis reveals that l-Thea regulates HFD-induced metabolic disorders, specifically through modulation of steroid hormone biosynthesis. Microbiome analysis reveals that l-Thea mitigates HFD-induced dysbiosis by increasing the relative abundance of obesity-associated probiotic bacteria, including Blautia coccoides and Lactobacillus murinus, while simultaneously suppressing the abundance of pathogenic bacteria. CONCLUSIONS: l-Thea alleviates colitis generated by an HFD by restoring the integrity of the intestinal barrier, suppressing inflammation through regulation of MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathways, and enhancing microbial metabolism in colon.

The prediction of three-dimensional (3D) protein structure from amino acid sequences has stood as a significant challenge in computational and structural bioinformatics for decades. Recently, the widespread integration of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms has substantially expedited advancements in protein structure prediction, yielding numerous significant milestones. In particular, the end-to-end deep learning method AlphaFold2 has facilitated the rise of structure prediction performance to new heights, regularly competitive with experimental structures in the 14th Critical Assessment of Protein Structure Prediction (CASP14). To provide a comprehensive understanding and guide future research in the field of protein structure prediction for researchers, this review describes various methodologies, assessments, and databases in protein structure prediction, including traditionally used protein structure prediction methods, such as template-based modeling (TBM) and template-free modeling (FM) approaches; recently developed deep learning-based methods, such as contact/distance-guided methods, end-to-end folding methods, and protein language model (PLM)-based methods; multi-domain protein structure prediction methods; the CASP experiments and related assessments; and the recently released AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (AlphaFold DB). We discuss their advantages, disadvantages, and application scopes, aiming to provide researchers with insights through which to understand the limitations, contexts, and effective selections of protein structure prediction methods in protein-related fields.

Currently, research predominantly focuses on evaluating clinical effects at specific time points while neglecting underlying patterns within the treatment process. This study aims to analyze the dynamic alterations in PANSS total scores and prolactin levels in patients with schizophrenia treated with risperidone, along with the influencing covariates. Using data from an 8-week randomized, double-blind, multicenter clinical trial, a population pharmacodynamic model was established for the PANSS total scores of and prolactin levels in patients treated with risperidone. The base model employed was the Emax model. Covariate selection was conducted using a stepwise forward inclusion and backward elimination approach. A total of 144 patients were included in this analysis, with 807 PANSS total scores and 531 prolactin concentration values. The PANSS total scores of the patients treated with risperidone decreased over time, fitting a proportionally parameterized sigmoid Emax model with covariates including baseline score, course of the disease, gender, plasma calcium ions, and lactate dehydrogenase levels. The increase in prolactin levels conformed to the ordinary Emax model, with covariates encompassing course of the disease, gender, weight, red blood cell count, and triglyceride levels. The impacts of the baseline scores and the course of the disease on the reduction of the PANSS scores, as well as the influence of gender on the elevation of prolactin levels, each exceeded 20%. This study provides valuable quantitative data regarding PANSS total scores and prolactin levels among patients undergoing risperidone treatment across various physiological conditions.

BACKGROUND: JX11502MA is a potent partial agonist of dopamine D2 and D3 receptors, with a preferential binding profile for D3 receptors in vitro, potentially for treating schizophrenia. METHODS: A first-in-human, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, single ascending dose clinical trial was designed. The subjects were randomly assigned to receive JX11502MA and placebo capsules with seven ascending dose groups: 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 3 mg, 6 mg, and 8 mg. The PK profiles of JX11502MA and its metabolites were evaluated, along with a safety and tolerability assessment. RESULTS: Considering the safety of participants, the dose escalation was halted at 3 mg. Following single-dose administration, JX11502MA exhibited rapid absorption with a median Tmax ranging from 1 to 1.75 h. The terminal half-life of JX11502MA ranged from 73.62 to 276.85 h. The most common treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) for subjects receiving JX11502MA were somnolence (56.3%), dizziness (18.8%), nausea (21.9%), vomiting (18.8%), and hiccups (18.8%). CONCLUSIONS: JX11502MA was generally well tolerated at a single dose of 0.25 to 3 mg. The PK profiles and safety characteristics in this study indicated that JX11502MA has the potential to be a favorable treatment option for patients with schizophrenia. Bisphenol A (BPA) is a prevalent endocrine disruptor found in natural environments. Exposure to BPA has been associated with male infertility. The natural phytochemical icariin (ICA) has demonstrated significant promise for the treatment of male infertility. However, its effectiveness is limited due to its low bioavailability, poor water solubility, and insufficient targeting abilities. Herein, novel nanoparticles are generated from the natural silk fibroin, which are used to load ICA. The efficient drug delivery system (ICA-SNPs) result in significantly focused drug distribution to spermatogonium, enhancing the anti-infertility properties of ICA, and can effectively mitigate spermatogenesis dysfunction induced by BPA, control serum sex hormone levels, and enhance testicular ultrastructure. Additionally, the ICA-SNPs restore spermatogenesis dysfunction primarily via the hormone biosynthesis, spermatogonium meiosis process, and glycerophospholipid metabolism.

This study aimed to summarize the characteristics of the top 100 most-cited publications on Peyronie's disease (PD) research and to analyse past and current research hotspots and trends. The SCI-E database of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) provided us with the top 100 most-cited publications in PD research, from which we took the following information: general trend of publication, year of publication, nation/region, institution, journal, author, and keywords. VOSviewer (version 1.6.18) and Excel (version 2016) were used for information analysis. Through a standardized search, we ultimately found 1019 papers in the field of PD research, from which we extracted the 100 articles that had received the highest citations. The articles were published between 1949 and 2016. The United States is a major contributor to PD research (n = 67). The University of California, Los Angeles, was the institution with the largest number of articles (n = 11). These articles were published in 16 journals, with the largest number appearing in the Journal of Urology (n = 47). The author with the most articles was Levine LA (n = 9). Gelbard MK's articles had the highest citation frequency (n = 1158). Erectile dysfunction (n = 19) was the keyword with the highest frequency, indicating that PD-related erectile dysfunction was the leading focus of research in this field. Most of the keywords that have appeared in the past decade are related to the clinical treatment of PD. Therefore, we believe that improving patients' erectile function to the greatest extent in clinical treatment is the frontier and hot spot of future research.

BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is a psychiatric disorder characterized by chronic or recurrent symptoms. Lurasidone was licensed in China in 2019 for the treatment of adult schizophrenia in adults with a maximum dose of 80 mg/d. However, post-market surveillance (PMS) with an adequate sample size is required for further validation of the drug's safety profile and effectiveness. AIM: To conduct PMS in real-world clinical settings and evaluate the safety and effectiveness of lurasidone in the Chinese population. METHODS: A prospective, multicenter, open-label, 12-wk surveillance was conducted in mainland China. All patients with schizophrenia from 10 sites who had begun medication with lurasidone between September 2019 and August 2022 were eligible for enrollment. Safety assessments included adverse events (AEs), adverse drug reactions (ADRs), extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS), akathisia, use of EPS drugs, weight gain, and laboratory values as metabolic parameters and the QTc interval. The effectiveness was assessed using the brief psychiatric rating scale (BPRS) from baseline to the end of treatment. RESULTS: A total of 965 patients were enrolled in the full analysis set and 894 in the safety set in this interim analysis. The average daily dose was 61.7 ± 19.08 mg (mean ± SD) during the treatment. AEs and ADRs were experienced by 101 patients (11.3%) and 78 patients (8.7%), respectively, which were mostly mild. EPS occurred in 25 individuals with a 2.8% incidence, including akathisia in 20 individuals (2.2%). Moreover, 59 patients received drugs for treating EPS during the treatment, with an incidence of 6.6% which dropped to 5.4% at the end of the treatment. The average weight change was 0.20 ± 2.36 kg (P = 0.01687) with 0.8% of patients showing a weight gain of ≥ 7% at week 12 compared with that at the baseline. The mean values of metabolic parameters and the QTc interval at baseline and week 12 were within normal ranges. The mean changes in total BPRS scores were -8.9 ± 9.76 (n = 959), -13.5 ± 12.29 (n = 959), and -16.8 ± 13.97 (n = 959) after 2/4, 6/8, and 12 wk, respectively (P < 0.001 for each visit compared with the baseline) using the last-observation-carried-forward method. CONCLUSION: The interim analysis of the PMS of adult patients with schizophrenia demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of lurasidone in the Chinese population. No new safety or efficacy concerns were identified.

Male hypogonadism can seriously affect male health and fertility, yet comprehensive bibliometric and visualization analyses of research in this area have been lacking. This study aimed to examine the distribution of literature, identify research hotspots, and discern development trends in male hypogonadism by analyzing 4026 English documents published between 2000 and 2023 using bibliometric and visual analyses. The results indicated a significant increase in publications and citations related to male hypogonadism over the past two decades, with the United States, the University of Florence, Maggi M, and the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism recognized as the most productive and highly cited country, institution, author, and journal, respectively. The article titled "The GPR54 gene as a regulator of puberty" received the highest number of citations. The keywords were categorized into four distinct clusters, including the etiology and pathogenesis of male hypogonadism, symptoms of late-onset hypogonadism, testosterone replacement therapy and its contraindications, the correlation between male hypogonadism and metabolic syndrome (MetS), obesity, and the epidemiology of male hypogonadism. The most frequently co-occurring keywords were "hypogonadism", "testosterone", and "men", while "oxidative stress" was the most prominent burst keyword. The analysis also identified "male infertility" and "oxidative stress" as the primary burst keywords in the last five years, indicating their emerging high-interest topics. Overall, this study provides a comprehensive overview of male hypogonadism research, offering valuable insights for researchers interested in this area, including potential collaborators, current research hotspots, and future research directions.

Background: Almost one-third of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) do not respond to conventional antidepressants, and new treatments for MDD are urgently needed. Objectives: This phase IIb clinical trial was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Anyu Peibo capsules in the treatment of adults with MDD. Design: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, fixed-dose study. Methods: A total of 172 patients with MDD from nine study centers were randomized (1:1) to receive placebo (n = 86) or oral Anyu Peibo capsules (0.8 g) twice per day (n = 86) for 6 weeks. The primary endpoint was the change in the Montgomery Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) total score from baseline to week 6, analyzed using an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) approach with the baseline MADRS score, center effect and center by group interaction as the covariates. Other efficacy endpoints and variables included clinical response and remission rates according to the MADRS and the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD-17) scores, the change in the HAMD-17, Clinical Global Impression - Severity scale and Clinical Global Impression - Improvement scale scores and the reduction in the Hamilton Anxiety Scale from baseline to week 6. Results: The mean baseline MADRS total scores were 29.20 and 29.72 in the Anyu Peibo (n = 82) and placebo groups (n = 81), respectively. The least squares mean change in the MADRS score from baseline to week 6 was 16.59 points in the Anyu Peibo group and 14.51 points in the placebo group. Although there were greater reductions in the MADRS score from baseline to week 6 in the Anyu Peibo capsule group compared to the placebo group, the difference did not reach statistical significance (least-squares mean difference, 2.07 points; 95% confidence interval, -0.27 to 4.41; p = 0.0819). The results of sensitivity analyses by ANCOVA with the last observation carried forward method for missing data indicated that the administration of Anyu Peibo capsules may lead to a significant reduction in depressive symptoms compared to the placebo (least-squares mean difference: 3.29 points; 95% confidence interval: 0.64-5.93; p = 0.0152). Furthermore, Anyu Peibo capsules showed significant benefits over placebo when the change in the HAMD-17 score from baseline to week 6 was evaluated as the secondary analysis (t = 2.01; 95% confidence interval, 0.03-4.23; p = 0.0464). Conclusion: Anyu Peibo capsules may have an effective and safe antidepressant effect, which warrants further research.

Magnetic liquid metal (LM) soft robots attract considerable attentions because of distinctive immiscibility, deformability and maneuverability. However, conventional LM composites relying on alloying between LM and metallic magnetic powders suffer from diminished magnetism over time and potential safety risk upon leakage of metallic components. Herein, we report a strategy to composite inert and biocompatible iron oxide (Fe3O4) magnetic nanoparticles into eutectic gallium indium LM via reactive wetting mechanism. To address the intrinsic interfacial non-wettability between Fe3O4 and LM, a silver intermediate layer was introduced to fuse with indium component into AgxIny intermetallic compounds, facilitating the anchoring of Fe3O4 nanoparticles inside LM with improved magnetic stability. Subsequently, a miniature soft robot was constructed to perform various controllable deformation and locomotion behaviors under actuation of external magnetic field. Finally, practical feasibility of applying LM soft robot in an ex vivo porcine stomach was validated under in-situ monitoring by endoscope and X-ray imaging.

BACKGROUND: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine has immense research value in the prevention of related tumours. A huge body of work has been published in this field, which may pose difficulties for researchers aiming to investigate all the available information. However, bibliometrics can provide deep insights into this research field. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to study HPV vaccine development, visually analyse the development status, trends, research hotspots, and frontiers of this field, and provide a reference for research on it. METHODS: Articles were acquired from the Web of Science Core Collection. VOS viewer and CiteSpace software were used to analyse publication growth, country/region, institution, journal distribution, author, reference, and keywords, and collected burst keyword words to display research hotspots. RESULTS: A total of 4831 references were obtained, and the annual number of publications increased fluctuating over the past decade. The United States of America ranked at the top in terms of percentage of articles. The institution with the highest number of research publications in this field was the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The most productive and frequently cited authors was Lauri E Markowitz. The journal with the most publications in this field was Vaccine, and the most influential journal was Paediatrics. The most frequently cited reference was 'A 9-Valent HPV Vaccine against Infection and Intraepithelial Neoplasia in Women'. Burst detection analysis of top keywords showed that 'national immunisation survey', 'social media', and 'hesitancy' are the current research frontiers in this field. CONCLUSION: This study provides useful information for acquiring knowledge on HPV vaccine. Research on solving the hesitation of HPV vaccination will become an academic trend in this field, which can offer guidance for more extensive and in-depth studies in the future.

Background: Tai Chi Chuan (TCC) may have a positive impact on physical and psychological well-being in breast cancer patients, but the evidence remains limited and inconclusive. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effects of TCC on the quality of life (QoL) and psychological symptoms in women patients with breast cancer. Methods: This review has been registered on PROSPERO (ID: CRD42019141977). Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of TCC for breast cancer were searched from eight major English and Chinese databases. All trials included were analyzed in accordance with the Cochrane Handbook. The primary outcomes were QoL, anxiety, and depression in patients with breast cancer. Fatigue, sleep quality, cognitive function, and inflammatory cytokine were the secondary outcomes. Results: Fifteen RCTs involving a total of 1,156 breast cancer participants were included in this review. The methodological quality of included trials was generally poor. The pooled results suggested that TCC-based exercise could significantly improve QoL [standardized mean difference (SMD)=0.35, 95%CI: 0.15-0.55, I 2 = 0, model: fixed, IV], anxiety [weighted mean difference (WMD)=-4.25, 95%CI: -5.88 to -2.63, I 2 = 0, model: fixed, IV], and fatigue (SMD=-0.87, 95%CI: -1.50 to -0.24, I 2 = 80.9%, model: random, DL) compared other controls, with moderate to low certainty of evidence. The improvement of QoL and fatigue by TCC was also clinically meaningful. However, TCC-based exercise failed to show any between-group differences in depression, sleep quality, cognitive function, and inflammatory cytokine. Post-hoc analysis revealed that TCC-based exercise outperformed the other exercise in improving shoulder function with very low certainty of evidence. Conclusion: Our findings manifested that TCC-based exercise is helpful for improving the QoL, anxiety, and fatigue in patients with breast cancer within the range of comparisons covered in this study. However, the results must be treated with great caution because of the methodological flaws of included trials. Larger, well-designed, and conducted randomized controlled trials with longer follow-up is warranted in the future to evaluate the important outcomes of TCC for breast cancer. OBJECTIVES: To retrospectively compare the clinical effects of the newly released 2021 and 2009 Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) equations for estimated glomerular filtration rate based on creatinine (eGFRcr) in a Chinese population with a broad spectrum of clinical characteristics using historical data. DESIGN AND METHODS: Patients and healthy individuals who visited the Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, between July 1, 2020, and July 1, 2022, were enrolled. The exclusion criteria were age < 18 years, amputees, pregnant women, patients with muscle-related diseases, and patients who had undergone ultrafiltration or dialysis. The final study population included 1,051,827 patients with a median age of 57 years; 57.24% of the enrolled individuals were men. eGFRcr was calculated using the 2009 and 2021 CKD-EPI equations and initial creatinine level. Results were evaluated statistically by sex, age, creatinine level, and CKD stage. RESULTS: The 2021 equation increased the eGFRcr in all participants compared to the 2009 equation by 4.46%. The median eGFRcr deviation of the 2021 CKD-EPI equation compared to the 2009 CKD-EPI equation was 4 ml/min/1.73 m2. 903,443 subjects (85.89%) had higher eGFRcr owing to the utilization of the 2021 CKD-EPI equation, which did not cause CKD stage change. A total of 11.57% of subjects (121,666) had improved CKD stage with the 2021 CKD-EPI equation. 1.79% (18,817) had the same CKD stage with both equations, and 0.75% (7,901) had lower eGFRcr but no change in the CKD stage with the 2021 equation. CONCLUSIONS: The 2021 CKD-EPI equation typically produces higher eGFRcr results than the 2009 version. Applying the new equation could lead to changes in the CKD stage for some patients, which doctors should consider.

OBJECTIVE: Environmental contaminants such as cadmium (Cd) may have a deleterious impact on sperm and reduce male fertility by compromising the blood-testis barrier (BTB). Hence, the effects of the traditional Chinese medicine Qiangjing tablet (QJP) on sperm quality and BTB alterations induced by Cd in mouse testes were examined. METHODS: Adult KM mice challenged with Cd chloride were examined, QJP was administered to mice as an oral drug by gavage, and the experiments lasted 2 weeks. Testicular and epididymal weights, sperm quality, anti-sperm antibodies (AsAb), hormone levels, and histology were evaluated. Changes in the levels of N-cadherin, occludin, ZO-1, claudin-11, F-actin, and ß-tubulin and their mRNAs were evaluated. The effects of QJP on the PI3K/Akt/Rictor pathway were evaluated. RESULTS: CdCl2 decreased reproductive organ weight, sperm quality, and testosterone (T) levels; increased AsAb, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels; induced structural damage in testicles with BTB disruption; increased BTB permeability; and decreased N-cadherin, occludin, ZO-1, claudin-11, F-actin, and ß-tubulin expression. After treatment, QJP blocked the effects of Cd on reproductive organ weight, sperm quality, and T; mitigated germinal epithelium compartment alterations; decreased AsAb, FSH, and LH levels; and preserved BTB ultrastructure and function. In addition, QJP induced increases in N-cadherin, occludin, ZO-1, claudin-11, F-actin, and ß-tubulin levels and the expression of their mRNAs through the PI3K/Akt/Rictor pathway. After the application of JRAB2011, the levels of a specific mTORC2 suppressor, Rictor, and the BTB-protective effect of QJP were greatly reduced. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated the effect of QJP against Cd-induced damage to the BTB, and the results indicate that QJP may play a significant role in opposing the effects of Cd through the PI3K/Akt/Rictor pathway.

Background: De Quervain's disease is a painful stenosing tenosynovitis of the first dorsal compartment of the hand affecting the tendons of the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of percutaneous first extensor compartment releases performed on embalmed cadaveric models by acupotomy operation with or without US guidance. Methods: Percutaneous release was performed with an acupotomy on 59 wrists of cadavers; 23 wrists were operated with US guidance, and 39 wrists were operated without US guidance. Each arm was dissected and assessed regarding the amount of release as well as the extent of neurovascular and tendon injury. Anatomical structures were also observed in this study. Results: Twenty cases (87%) were successfully released with ultrasound-assisted techniques, and 27 cases (75%) were successfully released with blind techniques. No neurovascular injury occurred in any arm, regardless of technique. No significant tendon injury was seen in any arm. Although minor surface scratches were visualized in 11 cases, they occurred in 3 cases (13.04%) with ultrasound assistance and in 8 cases (22.22%) with blind techniques. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the measurement of the distance from the incision marks to the blood vessels and nerves. A fibrous septum and bony protrusions were found in the first dorsal compartment, which may be anatomical factors affecting the success of treatment. Conclusion: Both traditional and US-guided percutaneous release by acupotomy of the first extensor tendon compartment can be performed for all wrists. US-guided techniques can improve the success rate and reduce damage during acupotomy operations.

Crack control strategies have been proven very useful for enhancing the stretchability of metal film-based stretchable conductors. However, existing strategies often suffer from the drawbacks of complicated preparation and predefined effective directions. Here, we propose a crack compensation strategy for preparing conductors featured with high stretchability by using liquid metal microparticles (LMMPs)-embedded polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as the substrate with a thin film of gold (Au) sputtered on the surface. LMMPs can be elongated to connect the cracked Au film upon stretching, which can form a conductive "island-tunnel" (IT) architecture to compensate for the cracks and maintain the conductivity. The high performance of the stretchable conductor is demonstrated by using it as electrodes to record surface electromyography of human brachioradialis and monitor electrocorticography signals of a rat in normal and epileptic states. The developed strategy shows the potential to provide a new perspective for the fabrication of flexible electronics.

Objective: The present study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous A1 pulley release using a needle knife. Methods: The author performed percutaneous A1 pulley release in 84 cadaveric hands fixed with 10% formalin. The cadaveric hands were divided into three groups: 28 hands in each group (group U: ultrasound-guided needle knife pushing group, group N: non-ultrasound-guided needle knife pushing group, group T: classical needle knife operation puncture group). Percutaneous A1 pulley release was performed, the soft tissue was dissected layer by layer, and the relevant anatomical data were measured. Results: The injured cases were as follows: group U, 29 (20.7%); group N, 36 (25.7%); and group T, 28 (20.0%). There is no significant difference between different tissue injury types in different intervention methods. The missed release cases were as follows: group U, 8 (5.7%); group N, 4 (2.9%); and group T, 13 (9.3%). The percentage of released A1 pulley were as follows: group U, 71.4% ± 30.7%; group N, 66.0% ± 20.3%; and group T, 61.0% ± 30.4%. The percentage of released A1 pulley of the three groups were compared: group U > group N > group T, and there was statistical difference between the three groups. The full release rates of the three groups were compared: group U(31.4%) > group N(15.7%) > group T(13.6%), and there were significant difference in the full release of A1 pulley between group U and group T, group N. Conclusion: Based on the cadaver specimen, the length and percentage of released A1 pulley is longer by ultrasound-guided percutaneous A1 pulley release using a needle-knife. and there was no statistical difference in the injury rate between the three techniques. Type of Study and Clinical Relevance: Clinical anatomic study. To test the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided percutaneous A1 pulley release using a needle knife in cadaveric hands, and provide an anatomically based support in clinic.

Background: The diagnostic capabilities of exosomes in the field of reproductive biomedicine have attracted much attention. The aim of this scientometric study was to statistically and qualitatively assess the knowledge structure, hot issues, and research trends of papers about exosomes in the field of reproduction using visualization methods. Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection was searched for studies on exosomes in the field of reproduction. We performed bibliometric and visual analyses using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Microsoft Excel. Results: After database search, 1,011 articles were included, with number of studies being published every year continually increasing. These publications came from 61 nations or regions, with the US having the highest number. The University of Queensland was the main institution in which the research was conducted. The journal Placenta contained the highest number studies. There were 5,247 authors in total. Carlos Salomon had the highest number of papers with co-citations. Exosomes, extracellular vesicles, pregnancy, microRNAs, preeclampsia, placenta, microvesicles, gene expression, biomarkers, and first trimester were the most frequently used terms. Conclusion: Exosome research is booming in reproductive biomedicine. Future studies will likely focus on exosomes as biomarkers in gamete formation and fertilization, pregnancy, and cancers associated with reproduction. In addition to focusing on fundamental research, we should concentrate on the application of the results and the investigation of exosomes in infertile patients.
